a little reminder...
Every once in a while, we get a reminder that helps us to remember why we do what we do. We got one of those reminders in the mail the other day. Hopefully, they don't mind us sharing this with the entire world, but here we go.
Dear Kevin & Team Hurley,
Thank you so much for helping make our wedding such a memorable celebration. We have been nothing but delighted with all of our photographs and the thank you notes! The day itself would not have been the same without you. We can't tell you how much we appreciate, and enjoyed, having you there, as well as taking the extra time after the wedding to run around town taking pictures. Thanks for everything you have done to make this event such a wonderful experience. We hope to see you down the road!
Thanks again,
Julie & Matt
In reality, I think we had as much fun as they did that weekend in St. Augustine, but to know that they will have the wonderful memories, and photos from that day, really does keep us going, and gives us the drive that we need to continue giving every client the best that we have to offer. Thanks for that little reminder!

Shudder speed...
January 20th marked the beginning of our wedding season here at Kevin Hurley Photography, and it was in stark contrast to the way we began our 2007 season last January. As I recall, last January, we began our wedding season in beautiful South Beach, Miami, Florida! It was a comfortable 82 degrees, and we strolled the streets of South Beach in shorts and tee shirts. On equally as beautiful of a day, with alot less travel, we began our 2008 wedding season here in Roanoke. We fired up Kevin's classic T-R, and it was on! Here is the stark contrast...it was below freezing here, and there was still snow on the ground from the storm on Wednesday! Despite the cold, we had a great time with Rachel and Kyle, and they were great sports as we shot outside until our fingers froze up! After thawing out during a warm reception at Schaal's Metamorphosis in downtown Roanoke, and getting to spend some time with a few familiar faces from Alicia and Sam's wedding, we were off to get one final shot.....outside. Kevin had an idea, Rachel and Kyle were all about it, and I'd have to say that it was well worth it! Check it out, and tell us what you think! We had a great time with Rachel and Kyle, and we wish them the best as they begin their life together! 1.03.2008
Statistically Speaking...
After reviewing our web site statistics over the past year, we found that kevinhurleyphotography.com has been viewed over 14,000 times since our remodel less than a year ago! Although the majority of the hits are from the United States, we have received hits from as far away as the Lao Republic, India, Saudi Arabia, Monaco, Pakistan, United Arab Emirates, Uruguay, Germany, France, Italy, the Russian Federation, Ireland, Norway, Switzerland, Brazil, Guam, Japan, Saint Lucia, Belgium, China, Netherlands, United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, and Sweden to name a few! I wish that everyone who viewed the site would send a postcard! Actually, that would be really cool, so send that postcard to:

Let us know where you are, and how you found our little space on the net! Who knows, maybe a shot of your postcard will make it to the site! When we see stats like these, it really brings new meaning to the term World Wide Web! Hit us up with some snail mail, people! Back to work!

2008...
We're finally back in the studio after celebrating the Holidays with our families! Back in the studio means back to work! Yes, it is hard to believe that we still have things to do after all of the work that we accomplished prior to Christmas! 2007 was really busy, and 2008 is shaping up to be alot like that! Good news for workaholics! The sessions have already begun, and we have a wedding coming up in about 2 weeks! If you would like to have us photograph your wedding, check the calendar, and give us a call! We still have some dates available, but they're filling up quickly! On another note, we're currently working on the print version of Yadda Yadda Yadda, that will hopefully be out in the next few weeks! The snail mail version will include the official introduction of some new offerings, as well as some studio news that we feel is fit to print! We will be updating the web site regularly with images from our daily sessions, and the blog will be overflowing with information! You never know what you might see, so get comfortable, keep the web site up at all times, and hit the refresh button on your browser periodically to be sure that you don't miss the latest news!
