Looks like the weather forecasters got it right this time! The snow began around 2:30, and now, at 3:45, the grass is covered! I ventured out into the backyard and snagged a few shots before the downpour began, and it held off just long enough for Kevin to take our 3pm clients outside for some timely family snow photos!!!! We'll keep ya updated on the accumulation, and keep your cameras handy! Send us some photos of your family enjoying the snow, and we'll post them here on the blog! Have a great weekend!!!!

What better way to brighten up a dreary Wednesday than to have back to back sessions with very happy babies! The great thing about babies is this...they don't let the weather get em' down! Well...that and countless other things! The first session, featuring Liam, was a blast, followed by Jackson and Nicholas, who were working the camera like little supermodels...making mom very happy! We owe these guys a big thank you for making our job a whole lot easier, and our day a whole lot brighter!

Cyber Monday means one thing here at Kevin Hurley Photography, it means that it's time to blog! November has been a really busy month here at the studio, and December is shaping up to be the same way! It feels like we just finished up with our Halloween Quick Takes, and now, Christmas Quick Takes are in full swing through December 11th, and are booking up daily! In the meantime, Kevin has been out of town, trekking across the great state of Texas with some buddies, making some stops for duck hunting, fishing, and a Cowboys game. He even squeezed in some photography while he was there! Keep checking back, some of the photos may leak to the blog soon! Senior, family, and baby sessions have yet to slow down, and we still have some slots available for those cool winter day shots...which are even cooler if it snows! Speaking of cool...have you seen our Christmas cards...which are even cooler with your family's photograph on them!?!?!?!? There is still time, and we still have some time! The Halloween Quick Takes series is booked solid!!!!! We have had an overwhelming response to this event! Thanks to everyone who will be participating, and thanks to all of those who have so graciously been willing to have their names placed on the cancellation list! The KHP Quick Takes "Halloween Costume Party" is an opportunity for you to give something other than candy on Halloween! This Halloween, reach deep into your plastic Jack-O-Lanterns to assist us in helping CHIP of the Roanoke Valley! The Child Help Investment Partnership of the Roanoke Valley promotes the health of the medically underserved children within the greater Roanoke Valley by ensuring comprehensive health care, strengthening families, and coordinating community resources in a public/private partnership. With a $25 donation to this organization, you will receive a FREE sitting for a Quick Pic of you, your kids, you with your kids, you with your friends, or you with your friends kids...however you want to do it...in your best Halloween costume! Each session will last about 15 minutes, so please arrive in your costume, ready to show us those pearly whites, before you schedule that post Halloween dentist appointment! Each participant will receive 1 5x7 and 4 wallet sized photos, but the real gift will be to CHIP of the Roanoke Valley, and the kids that they help out! After a hot week, we are officially back in the studio! If you are trying to reach us, I assure you, we will be getting back to you! Things are a bit crazy after a week off...that's a week's worth of phone calls, emails, and snail mails to catch up on, but we are gradually getting through it! In addition to that, we are very fortunate that the calendar is filling up quite nicely! Again, if you have left a message, do not fear, someone will be getting back to you as soon as possible! Kevin Hurley Photography will be closing for vacation on Friday, July 31st at 5pm, and we will be returning to the studio on Tuesday, August 11th at 9am!

WE HERBY DECREE THIS TO BE OUR VACATIONARY PERIOD!!!! WOOOHOOO!

So all of this rain that we have been getting, and are thankful for, can cease and desist for the entirety of that vacationary period!!!! I'm a fan of the rain...except that it gets the bottoms of my jeans soaking wet, but if I would just wear shorts...that wouldn't be a problem...so other than that, I love the rain, but when I'm on vacation...the rain can take a vacation too...to another part of the world...away from my vacation! Hope you guys all have a good week, and we will be back on the 11th, ready to take on the workload! See ya then!

This week has been crazy so far...and the remainder of the week is no different! You know what they say...when it rains, it pours...and boy, did it pour down today...really...there was a small creek that formed in the street next to the studio! Hey, that didn't stop us, no sir, we were hard at it! We have to keep our heads above the water this week, because next week....we won't be here! That's right....we're out of the studio the week of August 3rd, va-ca-tion...or stay-ca-tion...so we're staying on top of things...so that things won't be piled on top of us when we return!!! If you need us, we will be back in the studio on August 11th, and we'll get to you in the order in which your calls were received! :)

We are officially booking sessions for our newest Quick Takes series entitled, "When I Grow Up"! This series is officially all about the kids! When we were young, we always dreamed about what we wanted to be when we grew up. Some of us are doing exactly what we dreamed, and some of us will never stop dreaming about being professional beach reviewers! From June 16th through June 19th, KHP will be capturing these dreams in a way that only they can! From ballerina to astronaut, and everything in between, your little ones can live the dream of whatever they want to be! KHP will be able to provide the outfits for little doctors, ballerinas, firefighters, and astronauts, or if the kids aspire to be accountants, or professional wrestlers, bring the outfits with you, and we'll be sure to capture the essence of their dreams!
